Thought for the day 4

Thought for the Day…

When I was at school and being taught how to write stories, I remember that in the earliest lessons you were taught that you needed to plan a beginning, a middle and an end – and from there you could evolve those plans into an exciting story.

The first sentence of the bible is ‘In the Beginning’ and so if God starts at the beginning, why don’t we? You see in order to get to an end, there has to be a beginning… if you want to achieve a goal you have to make a start.

But making a start isn’t always easy is it? Making a start can be daunting, can be full of fear of the unknow – and can be full of worry because what if you fail? Making a start is often difficult, and perhaps it’s the reason that we don’t start and then we never get to the end!

But what if you took that step of faith? What if you overcame that fear? What if you thought I’m going to try even if I fail?! Changing your mindset, your attitude and your thinking can now allow you to make a start.

Let me encourage you today to make a start. Start at the beginning and trust God that he can take you through the whole journey (the middle) and bring you to the end. 1 John 4:18 says that Perfect love cast out fear, and we know that God is love (1 John 4:8).  His love - His promises for you, His protection over you and His spirit guiding you can be there at every step of making a new beginning… put your trust in God and make that start… and smile, enjoy the journey!
