Thought for the day 10
Thought for the day
After Pastor Steve read Hebrews 12:2 this morning where we are encouraged to fix our eyes on Jesus, the song ‘Turn your eyes on Jesus’ has been replaying in my spirit over and over. And after I searched the lyrics (to make sure I had been singing it correctly) I found a whole song with more verses that I didn’t know it had!
‘O soul are you weary and troubled
No light in the darkness you see
There's light for a look at the Savior
And life more abundant and free
Through death into life everlasting
He passed, and we follow Him there
Over us sin no more hath dominion
For more than conquerors we are
Turn your eyes upon Jesus
Look full in His wonderful face
And the things of earth will grow strangely dim
In the light of His glory and grace
His word shall not fail you, He promised
Believe Him and all will be well
Then go to a world that is dying
His perfect salvation to tell
Turn your eyes upon Jesus
Look full in His wonderful face
And the things of earth will grow strangely dim
In the light of His glory and grace
Wow! How did I not know there was more, and more powerful words! I might not know the melody but I’ve made my own up, so you could too!!
My thought today is that, whatever the circumstance, whatever the diagnosis, Turn Your Eyes On Jesus... fix them on him. Praying for you and the week ahead xx
“Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.”
