Lounge Cafe Manager
Hours: 24 hours per week (6 hours per day, 4 days per week)
Salary: Competitive hourly rate
Contract: Funded position 1 Year Contract
We are delighted to invite applications for a Lounge Café Manager to lead our award-winning Lounge Café.
The Lounge Café is more than a café. It is a welcoming, affordable, and inclusive space where people can relax, build friendships, and find connection. It plays a vital role in reducing isolation and has become a genuine hub for the community, serving people of all ages and backgrounds.
Created by Crossways Community Church, the café is rooted in a Christian ethos and reflects values of love, compassion, hospitality, and service. While open to everyone, our faith shapes the way we welcome and care for people, creating an environment where all are valued and respected.
We are now seeking a full-time manager (part-time hours) to manage the already established café and enhance its capabilities, helping it grow in sustainability, reach, and community impact while remaining affordable and accessible.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee the day-to-day management of the Lounge Café
Lead, support, and coordinate staff and volunteers
Uphold and model the café’s Christian ethos and welcoming culture
Ensure excellent customer service and a consistently warm experience
Manage stock ordering, collection, and organisation, including picking up stock as required
Maintain appropriate stock levels and supplier relationships
Manage pricing and basic budgeting
Maintain high standards of cleanliness, food hygiene, and health & safety
Handle tills, cash, and basic reporting
Gather and record relevant café data such as footfall, usage, and engagement to support future funding, reporting, and development
Identify opportunities to enhance the café’s offer while keeping prices community-focused
About You
Supportive of the Christian values that underpin the café
A personal Christian faith is desirable but not essential
Passionate about people, hospitality, and community engagement
Experience in café, hospitality, or similar management roles
Organised, reliable, and confident working independently
Able to lead and motivate others with warmth, care, and professionalism
Committed to creating a welcoming space that helps combat isolation
