Though for the day 16
Thought for the Day
We love a game in our house, whether that be a board game, gaming on devices or old fashioned fun games like hide & seek (yes, both Steve and I still play it with the kids!)
One of today’s games was ‘Game Of Life’ and as we set off across the board we all ended at the same place but our ‘lives’ had all turned out very differently. Sophie and I had far to many children, our cars weren’t big enough to take them across the board, and Sam seemed to collect houses and pets! Steve on the other hand avoided all the extras and was first home. It was all very amusing but totally unreal.
However, it did get me thinking about how we all have very different lives. Yes we might have some things in common - homes, children, pets etc but my life is so different to yours and vice versa. And like the game, I’m not required to live your life - you are, and you’re not required to live mine ... we are trusted by God to live our own lives, asking Him to guide and protect us as we travel through the choices we make and the things we enjoy.
So let’s celebrate that today, encourage one another as we all walk our own paths and put God centre as we all walk towards the same goal - eternity with our amazing Heavenly Father.
“Make a careful exploration of who you are and the work you have been given, and then sink yourself into that. Don’t be impressed with yourself. Don’t compare yourself with others. Each of you must take responsibility for doing the creative best you can with your own life.”
Galatians 6:4-5 MSG
